Surgery Update!

Good morning east coasters, west coasters and everyone in between.

(Can we just take a second to note that it’s absolutely no surprise that Shawna has cultivated a literal nation of friends who are here to support her healing)!

Last night around 8pm EST, Robie shared and update that the cancer surgeon had finished her part of the surgery and that it went well. As is often the case, some unexpected things came up—but the wonderful news is that her health was not in jeopardy and they did not find more cancer!

The plastic surgeon then transitioned in to start reconstruction, and as Shawna shared in earlier posts, this was expected to take a long time.

Robie’s update noted the earliest possible finish would be close to 9pm PST, but could also extend to midnight or later.

A little after 1 a.m EST Robie shared that Shawna's surgery had finished and that she was doing well! They were transferring her to the ICU and he was going to see her before heading home to get some rest.

Although she would not be awake, he shared  “I need to see my lovely wife before I can get some sleep. Thank you all for your love and positivity!”

I will end by echoing that sentiment and ask that we all keep the love and positivity pointed in their direction.
